Frequently Asked Questions

Wherever possible, yes! We know many of you like to travel with furry friends and think they deserve to be exploring Aberystwyth with you. We’ll always try to make our holiday cottages dog-friendly, and there are lots of dog-friendly beaches and venues throughout Aberystwyth.

Just email or call. We try to put everything visitors need on the website, so if we’ve missed something, please let us know! Your comfort is our number one priority, so if we can do something to help you, we will!

We make accessibility central to every upgrade as we’re carrying out the refurbishment (which we do ourselves). We’re committed to putting up a full Accessibility Statement on each holiday cottage or apartment. For example the Ty Pysgotwyr Accessibility Statement is here. If you have any additional needs or anything is unclear, please get in touch – we want you to have the amazing holiday you deserve!

There will be more, we promise! Basically, we aren’t a holiday letting agency – we’re a small team led by Aberystwyth roofer Colin Richards, whose dream it is to rescue neglected local properties and give them new leases of life as places of joy and leisure! His vision, care and passion for detail are practically local legend, so rest assured, we’ll absolutely be offering more cottages & holiday apartments and they’ll be just as brilliant and beautiful as Tŷ Pysgotwyr. The next is a 5-bed cottage (sleeps 8) with hot tub, bike storage, and outdoor shower for paddle boarders and surfers. We can’t wait to share it with you!

We most certainly will! As we grow, we’ll be adding a Blog to the website, including special offers, early bird discounts, last minute deals, attractions and more – all of which you’ll also find on our social media, so please follow us for those.

Towels and bedding are all included. In addition, please let us know if you need additional bed linen for the sofa bed – we’re happy to provide!

There’s an incredible amount to do in the area! Aberystwyth and Ceredigion (the county it’s in) have an extraordinarily rich cultural and historical heritage. We list many of these on the main page for Tŷ Pysgotwyr, but we also recommend taking a look at our Events page, which highlights some of the many things happening in Aberystwyth and Ceredigion throughout the year, or at our Food & Drink page for ideas about where to eat while you’re here!

We’re really keen to help walkers along the Ceredigion stretch of the Wales Coast Path enjoy themselves to the full. Tŷ Pysgotwyr is dog-friendly and has a washer/dryer for getting your clothes clean and dry, but we go so much further than this. Please check out our dedicated page for walkers, and let us know if there are other things that might be helpful!
